We noticed a high drop-off rate on Insight Direct portal, and worked with product owners to rebuild the information architecture around clearer categories, navigation, and a lighter load for the analysts maintaining it.
Impact
- 29% increase in visits, comparing the first six months post-launch with the same period the year before.
- 80% overall satisfaction, from focus-group feedback gathered ahead of the official launch.
- A meaningful reduction in analyst workload, through a centralised, pre-filtered library that replaced manual maintenance of individual category pages.
- Budget secured for a second designer and MVP 2, off the back of the MVP 1 foundation.
Leadership confidence shifted too. A clearer, more intentional product changed how stakeholders talked about it, and opened the door to further discovery work with analysts on where the platform goes next.
Content users could actually find
The original portal buried filters, charts, and reports inside dense tables, and half of users dropped off after the first scroll.
We restructured the information architecture into clear categories and a dedicated media home, so key content surfaced instead of staying hidden.
Less upkeep for analysts
A centralised, pre-filtered library replaced the manual work of maintaining individual category pages, a real win for the analysts producing the content.
Key screens across the portal now reflect this redesign, from macro insights through to the media library.
A shared design language
We brought the portal onto DLS 3.1, DBS’s updated design system, giving the redesign a consistent, credible foundation across both retail and institutional audiences.
